That River Has Flowed With The Flickered Fish of Nostalgia
pigment ink on paper, 23 x 30 cm, Framed
" Nostalgic,
Like walking down a stream,
I think I spot a fish and I look and look.
Perhaps it was only a leaf
Or the glimmer of a pebble,
I try to convince myself but still,
I look back
And wonder what it was I missed."
- The Islands of Niljora
The figure looks back, fearing she missed the moment. She sees her past hope as a shimmering fish in a river, who shines all the more now she cannot see it. Obstructed by staring into the past and idealising, the figure may not see the shimmering fish still swims beside her. It is a piece about the inevitable end of the past and moving on, or sink into reminiscence and miss the paths we have not even lost.

All But What We Wished
pigment ink on paper, 23 x 30 cm, Framed
He bought it all, did as expected, but forgot what was in his heart. I imagined a character buried in distractions, uncontrollable worries, thoughtless objects and things until his image was obscured. He paused then, and remembered what he really wishes for.

We Wish Exists
pigment ink on paper, 30 x 23 cm, Framed
"Cave drawn and hieroglyphic,
cosmos notes on expiration.
Here I am, At the center of the council,
The possibilities terrify,
A solitude, where I lift off.
This effervescence,
Is my only respite,
From rolling Yellow Mountains,
A dozen others pale before."
- The Islands of Niljora
This piece is an Ode to the inventions of science, art, and technology and those who had the drive and will to bring them from dreams to life. Ideas are powerful and have a tendency to come about once created. We should be careful what we wish for.

The Ladder We Rushed But In Our Haste Was Beauty Lost?
pigment ink on paper, 23 x 30 cm, Framed
I created this piece thinking of the distractions that stray us from what we want. It is a reminder to pause and consider what we do, what brings real beauty and value.

Exiting The Cave
pigment ink on paper, 23 x 30 cm, Framed
With this work I was playing with Plato's 'Allegory of the Cave' myth. The character is seeking to break from his chains and limitations in order to open his eyes.

We All Must Move On For The Swing At The End of The World
pigment ink on paper, 23 x 30 cm, Framed
This work explores ideas of the world past what we can see, be it the future, after life, or the idea of an end in time. It is about the brevity of things, and taking wing with the moment we have.

Non Si Simple
pigment ink on paper, 23 x 23 cm, Framed
The central figure follows a view of life that has now become tested or even proven wrong by life experience. Do they believe in what they have learned, an opinion they always had, or the path they thought they wanted? This piece was inspired by the many times in history to current day, when a person stopped to consider - and depending on who they were sometimes to so much consequence.

The Beauty and The Terrible Beast
pigment ink on paper, 42 x 30 cm

" Her top was sewn from the kidneys of the slain,
Her hair contained the Garden of Dreams,
Her skirt was made from the opening of Pandora's jar,
And her belt of rattlesnakes.
The snake up top,
At odds with me,
and a venom bite.
While Rachmaninov was fancy,
He created all the arts,
And dancers were doomed day and night,
to be under the spell of his Heart."

"I came to a ravine then, beams of rock
calmly intersecting a large grey sea.
I started down one side, zig-zagging
lower into the bedrock.
I noticed strange artifacts nestled in
the walls submerged with the tide.
Marine creatures swam past loosening
items that fell then dissapated.
And the sea retreats again."
